With the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill introduced to Parliament in May 2026, the conversation across the disability sector has shifted, and for good reason.

Consultation on home and living supports is set to begin in July 2026, with plan management and support coordination functions being redesigned and changes rolling out from late 2027.

For participants in supported or independent living, this signals a period of genuine transition. Plans may look different. Funding categories are being reviewed. And the pressure on housing providers and support teams to demonstrate outcomes, not just activity, is growing.
