Residence Revival | June 2025 Newsletter

A Message from the Founder

Dear Colleagues, Partners, and Friends,

As we enter the heart of winter, I’ve been reflecting on just how far Residence Revival has come — and how much of that journey we owe to people like you.

Every referral, every conversation, and every moment of trust placed in our team is something we never take for granted. What began as a small, specialised service is now steadily evolving into a statewide operation — helping more NDIS participants live with comfort, dignity, and stability. And we’re only just getting started.

At Residence Revival, we believe that real support isn’t just about ticking boxes — it’s about seeing the person behind the plan. From hoarding resets to forensic-level cleans, from emergency tenancy support to regular domestic assistance, we’re proud to offer practical, trauma-informed services that change lives in very real ways.

But we don’t do it alone. The work we’re doing with support coordinators, plan managers, allied health professionals, and advocates like Belle Kelly reminds me that this is a collaborative mission. It’s about wrapping the right people around each participant — and never losing sight of their story.

As we continue refining our services, building relationships across the sector, and investing in new reporting systems, I want to thank you sincerely for being part of this movement. You’re not just part of our network — you’re part of the reason we exist.

Here’s to more connection, more compassion, and more impact.

Cheers,

Matt Rasheed

Founder & Director, Residence Revival

Professional Spotlight: Belle Kelly – Advocacy Meets Strategy

ree

This month, we had the pleasure of catching up with Belinda (Belle) Kelly, a respected NDIS advocate, consultant, and marketing strategist.

Belle brings over 20 years of experience in the disability sector, having held roles ranging from casual support worker to Head of Operations for a nationwide service provider. Through her consultancy, Ring My Belle, she offers tailored support to help NDIS providers thrive, including:

  • Operational assessments and provider coaching

  • NDIS marketing strategy and brand development

  • Participant engagement tools and communications support

  • Guidance on plan reviews, implementation, and participant needs analysis

We’re excited about future collaborations that bring together on-the-ground support and strategic insight — all in service of a stronger, more responsive disability sector.

Community Connection: South West Sydney Support Coordinators Network

ree

In mid-May, Matt was both honoured and grateful to present at the South West Sydney Support Coordinators Network Get Together, joining a room full of experienced and passionate sector leaders.

A special thank you to the amazing committee members — including Angela Kastelan-Wilkinson, Erica Dilworth, Kevin Cheung, Elizabeth Hutchison, and many more — for the warm welcome and opportunity to speak about Residence Revival’s trauma-informed services and advocacy role in participant support.

Sector Highlight: Enrich Abilities – A Morning of Insight & Connection

ree

We were privileged to attend the Enrich Abilities event hosted by ORS Group and led by Elizabeth Hutchison.

Highlights included:

  • Keith Donnelly of Keith’s Closet shared his powerful story of dignity-centred mental health support, highlighting how access to quality clothing and essential personal items can restore confidence and self-worth for individuals navigating hospitalisation and recovery. His initiative supports people accessing mental health services—many of whom arrive with nothing—by helping them feel seen, respected, and human again.

  • Chris Mahoney of CM Wellness led a breathwork session that grounded and energised the room. It was a deeply uplifting morning and a great example of our sector’s compassion and innovation.

Mix, Mingle & Bowl: Community Through Fun

ree

The 'Mix, Mingle and Bowl' event, co-hosted by Connect Community and Respite Services and Scope (Aust), brought together over 180 participants and providers at Zone Bowling Villawood.

It was a joyful, laughter-filled day that reminded us just how powerful inclusive events can be — and why shared fun is such a big part of community and wellbeing.

Grateful to Have Joint Sponsored: Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea & NDIS Networking Event

ree

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of attending Cancer Council Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and NDIS Provider Networking Session, hosted by the incredible Melissa Garvin at Beyond Fun – 3/605 Hume Highway.

It was a fantastic morning filled with passionate providers, powerful conversations, shared values, and a strong sense of purpose. Together, we not only expanded our professional networks — we united for a cause that touches every community.

We’re proud to share that the event raised over $1,000 for the Cancer Council — a heartfelt testament to the generosity and spirit of the NDIS sector.

Stay warm, and thank you for being part of the Residence Revival journey. Every clean, every call, and every connection plays a role in transforming lives.

Together, we’re not just restoring homes — we’re restoring hope.

Let’s keep raising the standard.

Stay safe, stay connected, and thank you for the incredible work you do.

Kind regards,

The Residence Revival Team
